Whats in your sandwich?

We went to our local Pak n Save this morning for abit of shopping.

K disappeared down one of the aisles and Mana chan and I continued on......down past the "Deli section"and it just hit us.......that wonderfully comforting aroma that sends you into a spin of Mum's home baking.......ahhhh FRESHLY baked bread.
With palms pressed against the display cabinet worshiping the BREAD GODS (and drooling just abit) when K said "Oh get some of those ones with the bacon bits for lunch"
Sitting down for lunch Mana wanted 2 rolls for lunch which she promptly split both in two, then took the two bottoms pieces "Dozo Daddy" which she gave to me,took the two top pieces buttered them up,followed by "Marmite, abit of Sasauge, some Broccoli (yes broccoli) tomatoes and a couple of Kettle Potato chips.............according to her it was "Oshiiiiiiiiii......."

Hmmm wonder where she gets that from??

A bike for Mana

So I guess if it only costs $64 you'd kinda expect there to be some sort of catch (assembly required) so it may have been produced in China but it was made here by a Maori!!

Mana loved the basket to carry her toys and Mum decorated it up with flowers.
All nuts and bolts checked (and double checked) it was out for a test drive.....ride!!

What another Secret Spot "X"......

Managed to talk my Japanese group into including Auckland's North Shore as part of there Auckland sights.

Miyuki thought it was a wonderful idea and told the customers that "I" was giving them a very unique opportunity as we don't normally go there..........

Didn't want to tell them that I was motivated by reports of Takapuna (I mean "Secret Spot X" was breaking) well not so secret I guess with Rangitoto Island in the background.

Having just completed a Day Skippers cse I now know that there are 2 surfers travelling on the wrong side of that Green Starboard-hand Marker......haha.

By the way you could count on one hand how many times this place has surf able waves "EVER" so I guess it was a unique experience for everyone after all.......

A hard days work

It was a beautiful day today ideal for a spot of Winter/Spring pruning (my Dad always told me "Plant as many trees & bushes as possible when you move in........if you don't like it later you can always chop em down....."

The back was getting abit out of hand so I guess this was one of those "later" times.

Mana was helping me drag the branches out of the way and when I came back with another load she was gone.......well not for long.

And what better way to finish a hard day gardening and playing about but with a nice relaxing massage.........

Spot "X"....

I just finished my last People to People tour for 2007 and thought I was in desperate need of abit of "ME" time to unwind.
After hours of searching through the gigabytes of information on the net and then with my newly obtained knowledge of "The East Coast will be pumping..........."
I headed off to bed.

After the 0810 George FM surf report (good on ya Luke) http://www.georgefm.co.nz/ which went into great detail of the conditions, But I only heard....Clean glassy,3-4 ft northeast, offshore, Pumping Waves, 8/10..... I was off!!

An hour and ahalf drive later......with only about a dozen crew out......I was pretty happy with my decision.

As I was "squeezing" into my brand new 4x3 wetsuit my old mate Peter (ex airforce) pulled up and immediately went about jumping up & down and pretty much "frothing" like a "grommie" yelling & screaming,he stripped, changed and was off (still yelling)

By the way the new wetsuit was AWESOME 1hr.45 minutes later in water temp of 16c and I was still toastie.
Kinda a bad thing really for the whanau as now the Winter chill won’t put me off going out.
