Who said it doesn't snow in Auckland

Well its not snow and as we all know it doesn't snow here in Auckland but ice from the freezer did the trick.

Mana's played in snow before (in Japan) and it has definitely been cold enough.
Almost the entire South Island got a good "dump" causing the snow bunnies to froth at the very thought, even the central plateau roads here in the North island have been closed.

Anyway it was that time when I get down on on my knees (can almost hear the
groan) and hack out the excess ice build up from our good ole fridge/freezer (yes I have heard of "frost free")

After we had finished throwing it around (and at each other) Mana collected the remaining pieces and put them in a bucket.....to save it for later??

Was the 08/08/2008 good to you?

So how was your day??
Ours started off with a nice long sleep in.......

Mana has been really trying hard to build up her "Smiley Faces" (for being good) and she's has reached the grand total of 15 which now means she can go to the movies.......so which one did she choose?
None other than The chronicles of Narnia-Prince-Caspian"
Although we were warned that it was abit "darker" than the first (alot more fight scenes but somehow I just dont consider a sword wielding mouse as the darker side of things )
We all really enjoyed it on the drive back home we were asking Mana what was the funniest/scariest and I almost drove off the road with laughter as she reenacted a part form the movie.

What better way to finish off than to call into Burger Fuel for a Bacon Backfire a Mini Chook burger and for Mum a Slick Chick some spuds fries and all while the Kiwi tunes of Tiki Tanne "Always on your mind" played in the background........Mmmmmmmm

So yeah we all had a pretty good "888"

The Jazz dancer

Mana has been going to dance class for the last couple of months and today there was a Medal test out South Auckland way.....so on a VERY wet and miserable day we set off we to Papakura.

All the students were dressed up with hair and make up when Aunty Roslind (her teacher) got them all together, and after what seemed like forever the giggling girls (and boys) settled down for a rousing motivational speech.

The hall was not what I expected (was thinking cold, dark dingy hall) but I was pleasantly surprised a small theatre with lights a huge stage complete with a awesome sound system and very comfy seats.

The professional adjudicators were situated in the middle busily writing out the report sheet after each dancer, which was then followed by a small "bell hop" type bell......a pause then the next dancers name came booming over the PA system. (exciting stuff)
Mana was the second one to dance out of her age group and by this time Keiko was abit of a nervous wreck (it was so funny)
Her report read "Mana started off with "Very strong marches....." "Great timing". "Hope you had fun dancing on stage today...." AND "excellent performance Mana"

Althought I think she was more excited about the lollipop than her report!

But all that was forgotten as we cruised into town for our "second" favorite restaurant "Tanpopo" in the city and we all settled down to a pipping hot bowl of Ramen.
