The Jazz dancer

Mana has been going to dance class for the last couple of months and today there was a Medal test out South Auckland way.....so on a VERY wet and miserable day we set off we to Papakura.

All the students were dressed up with hair and make up when Aunty Roslind (her teacher) got them all together, and after what seemed like forever the giggling girls (and boys) settled down for a rousing motivational speech.

The hall was not what I expected (was thinking cold, dark dingy hall) but I was pleasantly surprised a small theatre with lights a huge stage complete with a awesome sound system and very comfy seats.

The professional adjudicators were situated in the middle busily writing out the report sheet after each dancer, which was then followed by a small "bell hop" type bell......a pause then the next dancers name came booming over the PA system. (exciting stuff)
Mana was the second one to dance out of her age group and by this time Keiko was abit of a nervous wreck (it was so funny)
Her report read "Mana started off with "Very strong marches....." "Great timing". "Hope you had fun dancing on stage today...." AND "excellent performance Mana"

Althought I think she was more excited about the lollipop than her report!

But all that was forgotten as we cruised into town for our "second" favorite restaurant "Tanpopo" in the city and we all settled down to a pipping hot bowl of Ramen.
