Catching up......with work and friends

The day started out as a typical "Day off" with Mana compiling a list the of "little" jobs for us to do.

She got a bit carried away with the jobs and not all of them were completed but the ones in and around the garden cutting tree stumps, cleaning the garden, weeding, planting "another" crop of Spinach (first one went just like that such is the demand for veggies in the Waiariki household) were all taken care of.

Anyway I got a email from a friend Anna last night (its been years since we last "crossed paths") and with her living in Germany and now in France it was a awesome opportunity to catch up .

Mana was soooooo excited and she was really trying to impress Anna with pictures, certificates,writing, games and missing front teeth......:)

Awesome to catch up Anna be safe,we all miss you heaps x

My surfer girl

Worked the first part of the day/morning today but was home by 1400 and K had already suggested that we head out to the beach.

Mana wanted to take my/her surfboard out, this will be the second time we have been out to "try" (the first was on Boxing day) so packed up we headed out to Maori bay.

The water may have only been ankle deep at first but it wasn't long before her confidence built.....and then she caught a wave,first it was the knees.....then second wave she was straight up and standing!!!
What a buzz (for me ) and Mana loved it too she was shivering so much with the cold and excitement but still wanted to have "one more" turn :)
